DANIEL "Dan" JOHN BRINEGAR
Born: 05-19-1960, in Los Angeles County, California.
Died: 01-02-2004, at age 43, in Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, 01/10/2004 at Greer-Wilson
Funeral Home, 5921 W. Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85035. Dan's brother
is James "Jim" Brinegar, MHS; 1980. Published in the Arizona Republic on

ROBERT "Bob" BLAKE
Died: 01-08-1977, in a car accident, during his Junior class year. He is
listed in the 1978 year book Memoriam, pg.# 253. His sister is Brenda
(Blake) Gorski, MHS; 1981 who resides in Buckeye, AZ.

KAREN JO CURTIS
Born: 11-20-1960
Died: 06-07-1986
Karen was killed by a cliff jumper while tubing down the Salt River. She
was attending ASU, she was in the ROTC program, and upon graduation
would have become a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. She had dreams of
becoming a jet pilot. A scholarship fund at ASU has been established in
her name and for the past years has helped many other students achieve
their dreams. Karen received honors of being a member of Parnassus,
while at MHS. Karen will always be missed and never forgotten. Karen's
sister is Leanne (Curtis) Koppes, MHS; 1980.

KEVIN KENT DERRICK
Born: 08-29-1961, in Denver, Adams County, Colorado
Died: 07-05-2007, at 45 years of age, of Matthews, Mecklenburg County,
North Carolina
Kevin passed away Thursday, 07/05/2007 at his home after a brief
illness. He was born in Denver, Adams County, Colorado and lived a
wonderful childhood in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. Kevin attended
Maryvale High School (MHS) and Glendale Community College (GCC) in
Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona, where he began his life long passion of
playing golf for the school teams. In 1975-76, Kevin's freshman year, he
was a member of the MHS golf club. Kevin was a member of the MHS-Varsity
Golf team during his sophomore, junior and senior class year. In
1978-79, Kevin's senior year, he was a member of VICA, Art council
representing industrial and fine arts. Kevin was an excellent golfer,
obtaining a PGA card and playing in U.S. Open Qualifying tournaments in
1986. Kevin's love of the game consisted of annual golf outings with
dear friends on our nation's finest courses and he served on the Doug
Jones Memorial Golf Tournament Committee, benefiting cancer research for
several years. Kevin worked as a grocery specialist trainer and manager
of Store # 111 with Food Lion Grocery in Charlotte, North Carolina for
12 years. He enjoyed NASCAR (favorite driver was Jeff Gordon), horse
racing, and the Phoenix Suns. He enjoyed cooking, was a wonderful Life
Coach to many and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will
be deeply missed by all. Memorial services to celebrate his life were
held Sunday, 07/08/2007 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. A
funeral mass was held Sunday, 07/22/2007 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral,
100 West Roosevelt Street, Phoenix, Arizona. The family greeted friends,
share memories and celebrated Kevin's life, at the church, after the
service. Kevin is survived by his parents, Phil Newton Derrick and Judy
(Collier) Derrick of Phoenix, Arizona; his two sisters, Laura "Laurie"
(Derrick) Guzman (MHS; 1981) of Prescott, Arizona and Lisa Derrick (MHS;
1978) of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandmother, Dorothy Collier of Phoenix,
Arizona; his girlfriend, Ana Greenwood of Matthews, North Carolina; his
two nephews, Michael and David Guzman of Prescott, Arizona; and his
aunts and uncles, Kip and Debbie Sudduth of Phoenix, Arizona and Bryan
and Kay Collier of Denver, Colorado and many close cousins and extended
family, friends and colleagues in Arizona and North Carolina. In lieu of
flowers, memorial donations may be made to the

Scott Price Fleming
Scott Price Fleming, 48, of Chandler, AZ, passed away on September
23, 2008. Scott was born August 20, 1960 in Phoenix, AZ to James
Robert and Anna Jeane Fleming. He attended Maryvale High School, and
became an Eagle Scout. He worked at Reynolds Aluminum prior to
serving a Mission for the LDS Church in Boise, Idaho. He attended
college in Idaho and BYU when he met Debra Lee Casto and married in
June 29, 1985 in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He graduated from BYU and
NAU, receiving his Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. He is
survived by his wife Debra, 4 children Chantel, Kendra, Kami and
Scott Price Jr.; mother Anna Jeane Fleming, 1 sister and 6 brothers.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, September 26, 2008 at Greenwood
Memory Lawn Mortuary 719 N. 27th Ave Phx, AZ 85009 and Saturday 9 AM
at the church. Funeral Service will be 10 AM, Saturday, September
27, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, McQueen
1st Ward, 17817 S. McQueen Rd, Chandler, AZ. Interment will follow
at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery. Donation may be made to the LDS

MICHAEL "Mike" ALLEN FREDRICK
Born: 05-10-1961, in Duluth, Minnesota
Died: 06-16-2006, at 45 years of age, of malignant Melanoma, in Phoenix,
Maricopa County, Arizona.
Mike was a graduate of Grand Canyon University, 1990 and a dedicated
member of the Walgreens Drug Store team for the past 25 years. He is
survived by his Mother Barbara Ridlen (Tex), Father William Fredrick
(Glenna), brother Mark Fredrick, MHS; 1980 (Joyce), sister Michelle
Fredrick, MHS; 1982, grandmother Marjorie Williams, extended family
members and his valued coworkers. A memorial service was held on
Wednesday, 06/21/2006, at Greer-Wilson Funeral Home, 5921 West Thomas
Road, Phoenix, Arizona. Officiating was Gordon Christopher. Arrangements

Niles took his own life on 08/02/1998. Cari (Smith) Vick, MHS; 1979 was
Niles wife. They married 12/1979. Niles also left behind his son
Christopher Vick (24), and daughter Jaime Vick (23). Niles last worked
at Brown and Brown Chevrolet in Mesa, Arizona, as a security guard.

LONA "FELICA" WHITEHEAD
Born: 03-28-1961, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Died: 02-25-2005, in Phoenix, Arizona, from a heart attack.
L. Felica Whitehead, 43, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away February 25,
2005. She was born March 28, 1961, in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was employed
as a customer service rep at American Express for 11 years. Felicia was
also a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism & volunteered for
the American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her brother Tyrone.
Survivors include her daughter Abagael of Phoenix, & sister Regenia also
of Phoenix. Visitation was Wednesday, March 2, 2005, with services
immediately following at Lundberg White Rose Chapel, 5310 W. Northern
Ave., Glendale, AZ. Contributions may be made to
American Red Cross.

Kenneth "Butch" Lee Wyatt, Jr.
Wyatt, Kenneth "Butch" Lee Jr. 51, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on
October 29, 2012. "Butch" is survived by his siblings, Larry Joe Brown,
Janet Ells, Ronnie Brown, Terry Brown, Patty VanZanen, Bobby Wyatt,
Kathy Chamberlain and Andrea Hinman. A Celebration of Life Service will
take place at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 12th, 2012, at Lowmans Arizona

His youngest sister Andy says, "He
had an accident a few years ago a was quadriplegic and it was from
complications that he died."
He was a great young man...loads of respect...he like his three older
brothers was a great athlete.... I spent a lot of time in the early
seventies with his family..Terry was my best friend. Butch always had a
smile on His Handsome face. |
