LONNIE CHESTNUT
Born: 10-27-1965, Kansas City, Missouri
Died: 12-13-2001, Kansas City, Missouri
Lonnie Chestnut was born to Edgar Chestnut, Jr. and Gwendolyn Harris
Chestnut. He attended the public schools of the Hickman Mills district
before moving to Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, where he attended
Cartwright Elementary School and Maryvale High School (MHS). During
Lonnie's freshman year at MHS, he was of the freshman football team and
was a member of the MHS-JROTC. His sophomore year he was on the
JV-football team. During his junior and senior years he was on the
Varsity football team; wearing jersey # 75 all 3 years. Lonnie also
received All-State Champion honors. Following his graduation, the family
returned to Kansas City, Missouri, where he attended Kansas City, Kansas
Community College. He became employed at the Kansas City Star newspaper
in 1987 and remained in that employment until his death. Lonnie married
Jeanette Pastiran, the love of his life. He remained a member of the
Metropolitan Spiritual Church of Christ, where he was christened by
Reverend Henri Lawson. His Godparents, Gilbert Harris and Pearl Robinson
preceded him in death. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of the
home; his mother, Gwendolyn Harris Chestnut; his brother, Randal L.
Chestnut (Tamara); uncles, Robert L. Harris (Maxine), and Jon Harris
(Helen); aunts, Jolene Harris of Topeka, Kansas, and Rosalind Harris,
Michelle Williams, and Eddis Sayles of Kansas City, Kansas; a niece,
Tracy Millbrooks; cousins, Ronald Harris, Gwynne Harris, Carla Harris,
Sharla Gilliam, Shaunte Banks, Tony Gilliam, Robin Harris, Ricquisha N.
Campbell, Leitha Sayles Hill, Egenia Sayles, Kim Watkins (Ben) Vivareen
Sayles, Helen Coleman, Tommy Chestnut (Mary Louise), Stacey Watson
(Marvin), Christopher Chestnut, and Kyra Harris; longtime loving
friends, Heidi Balderas of Phoenix, Arizona; Tim Rainey, Brian Lawson,
and Steve Hampton, of Kansas City, Missouri; coworkers at the Kansas
City Star; and a host of other relatives and friends who survive and
mourn his loss. Lonnie's interment is at Mt. Saint Mary's Cemetery, 23rd
and Cleveland, Kansas City, Missouri.

Died 09-1997, from a brain aneurysm.
Julie last resided in Colorado.

on Facebook :"Maryvale high school friends I need your help. I have been
in contact with Heather Cochran she is 21 and the daughter of one of our
classmates Julie Jolynn
Cochran class of 1984 she was a cheerleader. Here is the issue Julie
died when Heather was 7 and has no contact with her mothers family and
would love to get some pictures of her mother as she does not have any.
If anyone has pictures or knows anyone that would be able to help her
please let me know, I know she would be most grateful, lets help her
have some memories of her mother to share with her children. Please pass
this on to all of our Maryvale family I know we an help her.

Born: 07-31-1966, in Los Angeles, California.
Died: 02-19-2005, at age 38, in Scottsdale, Maricopa County, Arizona.
Steve is preceded in death by his Father, Stephen E. Korn, SR. (DOB:
11/02/1940-DOD: 11/28/1969), in Los Angeles, California. Memorial
Services for Stephen were held 02/26/2005 at Greenwood Memory Lawn
Mortuary, 719 North 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.
Published in The Arizona Republic on 02/24/2005. Steve was cremated and
his remains were given to his family. |

Born: approx. 1966
Died: 03-05-2004, at age 37, from breast cancer, in Phoenix, Arizona.
She is survived by her parents, Patricia Lopez & Johnny Reyes;
grandmother, Ida Marie Saldano; son, Michael Reyes; daughter, Brandi
Cruz; brother, Danny Lopez, MHS; 1999; sisters, Gina Lopez, MHS; 1987, &
Sylvia (Reyes) Faber, MHS; 1988; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews, & cousins. Mass was at St.Vincent De Paul Church, 3140 N. 51st
Avenue, on Sunday, 03/28/2004, with a special blessing ceremony
immediately afterward in the church courtyard. Published in the Arizona
Republic from: 3/10/2004 through 3/11/2005.
