She encouraged her sister Gina to join her in her newly found paradise. Together they attended Maryvale High School and made fast friends with some of the students who became friends for life. Billie was never afraid of trying something new and was always seeking to have a much fun as possible. This zest for life, combined with a troubled childhood led to her struggles with addiction. She was always friendly, non-judging, and generous, to anyone she met. She touched the lives of countless people. She will be missed. Memorial services will be held at the A.L. PHOENIX - Phoenix police are investigating an early morning single vehicle crash on Sunday that killed one person and injured two more.

Around 4 a.m. the driver of a red Chevy car lost control of his vehicle while traveling eastbound on Bethany Home Road near 41st Avenue.

The car crossed the center median and struck a large tree. The occupants were not wearing seat belts.

The impact killed the front seat passenger Rick Anderson, 18, a football captain at Maryvale High School. Class 2010

The 17-year-old back seat passenger was critically injured and taken to the hospital. He is now listed in serious condition.

The 17-year-old driver sustained minor injuries.

Phoenix police continue their investigation into what caused the accident.

According to Sgt. Trent Crump racing or alcohol impairment do not appear to have been factors in the accident.

A car wash is being held at Maryvale High School on Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. to help the Anderson family with funeral expenses.
