As much as we love the
"American Old West"

the very things we love about it are disappearing every day.

That's why capturing
the stories of the old west,
straight from the
 "People Who Have Kept
the Spirit of the Old West Alive"
is an important project.

Join us as we interview and record oral histories before they fade away...

Our first interview is with the man who has done the most to promote and preserve Arizona history in the last four decades, Marshall Trimble.

Born in Ash Fork, he has lived and taught Arizona History and is recognized as the leading authority and holds the position of Arizona State Historian.

But how much do you actually know about Marshall?

Come sit with us for an hour or two as he tells us about his life and experiences.

How did he learn so much about Arizona and what about this state has thrilled him the most.

Here about all of the interesting characters in Arizona history he has met and his impressions of their significance in history.

October 5, 2012, Phoenix, Arizona – Chaz Lee is being awarded the Spirit of the Old West Alive Award in Phoenix, Arizona at the Herberger Theatre on October 12, 2012. He will be the 55th recipient of this award placing him among an elite group of individuals who by their work or actions help to keep the spirit of the old west alive.

As much as we love the "American Old West" the very things we love about it are disappearing every day. That's why capturing the stories of the old west, straight from the "People Who Have Kept the Spirit of the Old West Alive" is an important project.

“Friends in the hospitality industry tell me people come here looking for the old west experience and it is harder to find anything authentic anymore,” says Spirit of the Old West Alive (SOWA) founder LeeAnn Sharpe. “Those of us who grew up with Gene and Roy want to hold on to the memories and the experiences of cowboy hats, boots and six guns. We want to have horses and the code of the west in our lives. Spirit of the Old West Alive honors those who help us hold on to those experiences a little longer in this fast paced modern world.”

Chaz Lee the star and producer of the only full-length feature western to be filmed exclusively in Arizona,  Copper Wind, as well as leader of Six Gun Entertainment, LLC, exhibits the traits SOWA wishes to honor. He has the courage and determination to dress and act the part of the old west cowboy businessman. His actions bring to life a world of western history we all enjoy watching and being a part of if only for a few hours of entertainment each weekend.

Lee’s extensive film and television and theater credits include: Aroused Tension; Tombstone; Escape from LA; Junkyard Cartel; Lee performs as the lead outlaw for Six Gun Justice Gunfighters, a division of Six Gun Entertainment, LLC; he also has performed with Detour Company Theatre as a singing cowboy. Lee was the front man/singer for Leeway, a rock and roll musical act, and portrayed Wild Bill Hickok, among many other historical characters, during his time as a stuntman at Old Tucson Studios. He also worked with the famous Arizona Roughriders. Lee received his training at The Acting Studio in Denver, Colo.

His key experience is in American drama, improvisational theatre, scene study, script analysis and he has studied under the guidance of Sir William Smith. In addition to his experience as a stunt professional for which he has choreographed high falls, roof rolls, gunfights, stage fights, stunt driving, Lee designed stage combat with fellow stuntmen using crossbows, hand guns, rifle and knives, Lee also is recognized for his poetry, song lyric, short story and screen play writing.
