Amy was a most lovely, sweet, kind, respectful, thoughtful, and gentle caring young lady. She was such a wise soul and always brought much joy to her family and all who knew her.
Prior to her passing, she was involved and supportive in the public inquiry and pursuit of seeking the truth in the "Maryvale Cancer Cluster" (environmental/health concerns) issue; attending meetings, protests, and writing letters of concern to political powers that be, media and news; including one that she sent to Michael Lacey of the "New Times" newspaper, that was published a series of articles which covered the issue in depth, starting with the 06/1986 article "Death on the Westside." A tree was planted at MHS in memory of Amy that was dedicated with support from Stevie Nicks of the rock band "Fleetwood Mac." Amy's Mother is Teresa Johnson, MHS; 1972; her sister is Cory Johnson. ERNEST "Ernie" E. NICKERSON, III

Died: 10-1989 from complications of leukemia.
He was a member of ROTC. He always conducted himself in a proper manner, but more so when in uniform, he was proud to wear it. Ernie was a big guy with a bigger heart, he cared about people and tried not to let the teasing about his size get him down. He was funny and liked to laugh. He was also very smart (he helped out his friend Jennifer, in math). Ernie was a very nice, sweet guy that was also shy. He missed so much time in school, being sick, that he couldn't graduate with the class. Jennifer shared several classes with Ernie and she is very glad she got to know him. He resided in Arizona.
